Sonia Skewes is an Integrative Money Trauma Therapist, Accredited Social Worker (AASW), and founder of The N.E.R.V.E. Method™. With a Master of Social Work, a Bachelor of Behavioural Science, and clinical training in Relational Integrative EMDR, Brainspotting, Root Cause Therapy, and Resource Therapy, her approach is shaped by both professional formation and her own lived experience of inherited money patterns.
She works with healthcare professionals, therapists, and practitioners who are stuck in financial stress despite everything they know and everything they've tried, and she offers that same depth to professional audiences through education, training, and keynote facilitation.
Her work sits at the intersection of money, trauma, and the nervous system, translating clinical complexity into language that actually lands.
Financial stress is one of the leading stressors in contemporary life. And yet in caring professions, money remains one of the most uncomfortable topics we don't talk about openly, even as we hold space for others to do exactly that.
This interactive workshop introduces the N.E.R.V.E. Method™, a trauma-responsive framework for understanding financial stress at a body-based, root-cause level.
Participants move through each stage of the method, Name it, Explore it, Reveal the root, Validate and release, and Expand new pathways, using somatic awareness, expressive activities, reframing language, and grounding practices.
The session addresses both practitioner wellbeing and client application. Participants leave with practical tools, language shifts, and a different way of understanding why financial patterns are so resistant to logic alone.
Interactive.
Reflective.
Grounded in evidence and lived experience.

Sonia Skewes is joining a program of keynote speakers and workshop facilitators exploring the future of socialwork practice in Tasmania.
Her workshop, The N.E.R.V.E. Method™: Redefining Financial Wellbeing for Social Workers Through Trauma-Responsive Practice, sits within the concurrent morning session and brings something the broader program doesn't otherwise address, the nervous system beneath financial stress, and what social workers can actually do about it, for themselves and for the people they support.
